Sidewalk Protest / Rally

When: May 7th at 5:00 PM

Where: 111 South Michigan, Saginaw County Courthouse, Saginaw, MI

What better way to spend it then coming down to the Saginaw County courthouse at 5 o’clock and protesting on the sidewalk. Jason Dean will be playing live music from 5 to 530.

There will even be chalk for you to write your protest sign right on the sidewalk

But also bring a sign as well. At 5:30 you can bring your lawn chair, set it up in the grass and listen to some wonderful community speakers and then after that head back out to sidewalk protests for a while.

From 5:00 to 5:30 Kevin from the Kristen McDonald Rivet team will there and you can chat with him if you have any concerns

If you wanna come early, there’s some great places to catch a bite to eat in old town Saginaw. There are a few parking lots by the Saginaw courthouse

There’s street parking and there’s parking in old town.

Let’s make some good trouble and some good noise.

WOMAN May Action Meeting

When: May 13th at 7:00 PM

Where: Mi Element grains & grounds, 3124 Jefferson Ave, Midland, MI

Looking for a community to help you stay sane during Trump 2.0? In need of ideas for how to help preserve democracy and friends to do it with? Come to a WOMAN meeting!

For our May meeting, we will have a guest speaker from “Rank MI Vote”, an effort to bring ranked choice voting to Michigan.

We’ll also talk about the next big day of action on June 14th and how you can get involved!

There is a lot going on and it can be hard to know where to start taking action. WOMAN is connected to Indivisible groups around the state and we have lots of ways that you can take action.

Persons of any gender identity are welcome.

Our agenda usually includes time for community building as well as information about what’s going on and where we can make a difference. We often have speakers about relevant topics and we hear from elected officials.

Beverages are available to purchase from our MI Element hosts, Tony and Suzanne. Coffee, tea, beer, and bottled sodas available. Anyone is welcome to bring snacks to share.
